To make full use of the powerful Viper SmartStart App, you need to have the SmartStart hardware installed in your car. There are a couple of options:
1. Purchase a SmartStart Module and combine it with a compatible Viper system (new or already installed).
OR
2. Purchase a complete SmartStart System.
If you already have a compatible Viper system, you can add the VSM250 module to make your system SmartStart ready and GPS ready.
If you already have a compatible Viper remote start system, you can add the VSM200 module to make your system SmartStart ready.
The VSM50BT connects your vehicle and smartphone with Bluetooth® technology, allowing you to control your car via the Viper SmartStart app.
If you don't have a compatible Viper security with remote start system, the VSS5000 has everything you need to make your vehicle SmartStart ready.
If you don't have a compatible Viper remote start system, the VSS4000 has everything you need to make your vehicle SmartStart ready.

Your Viper SmartStart hardware is an “always-on” connected device that communicates over the GSM network. Just like a cell phone, your SmartStart requires a service plan to communicate over the network. You can purchase
a service plan from MySmartStart.com.
After you have Viper SmartStart installed in your car by an Authorized Viper Dealer, you will receive an email with login instructions for MySmartStart.com.
