the remote works fine and is overly sensative the major problem is the back breaks near the bottom around the battery door and will not stay on tightly and you have to tape it down to get a connection since there is no where to get housing parts? VIPER SUCKS!!!!!!

This works well, bu the battery cover on mine fell off on a regular basis - the design does not apparently enable a secure closure. Eventually, it fell off somewhere and was lost. Without the back in place, the batteries seem to move enough that the device goes haywire regularly - makes all sorts of random tones and becomes unreliable as a result. The dealer/installer (Best Buy) only sold replacement remotes and referred me to Viper. There was nothing on the website other than the links to purchase a replacement remote. Well, it didn't make sense to me to spend that much on fixing a problem that would probably just happen again with the replacement unit, so I called Viper, and after a reasonable hold time I was assisted by a person who right away offered to send me a couple of replacement battery covers (so I'd have a spare), at no charge.
Well done!

Amazing product, I've had it for almost 2 years now. Great style, but the paint has been chipping off ever since about a year ago and is almost completely gone, plus it's been telling me that the batteries are dying, even right after replacing them. Any help?

Great remote. Buttons are a little sensitive, but there is a lock function so it prevents any erroneous commands from being sent. (i.e starting the car) 4 Stars because the battery life isn't the best, but considering its 2way it can't really be helped.
The 2-way remote has a lock and unlock function for its own buttons. So you have turn this function on.
Thanks!

Great 2 way remote. I sold car starters and alarms for 20 yrs. Can't beat this for the price. Yes the remote buttons are sensitive in the pocket. I Picked up a clasp and hook the keys on my belt loop...no prob

I've had my alarm system for about a year now. i love my system, but the remote burns through batterys like no other. Also im on my second remote since getting my system. But I love it.
Pro's: Slim, fits well into pocket. Awesome range, 2way feature is very handy. Button lock-out feature is a BIG lifesaver by keeping "pocket commands" from happening. Low battery warning feature is nice. Many many other features...
Con's: Paint wears off easy, Eats batteries (keep extra sets handy). Doesnt show if car is running.

The battery life isn't the greatest compared to my other DEI systems. In addition to the button are easily pushed while in my pocket. (Maybe a "lock" switch put on the remote would be great).
Besides for that, I love the new style and ese of use of the remote. I would not change that part for anything.

Both the look and size of this remote are perfect, however this also makes the unit too weak and sensitive. The unit often disables the alarm when in the pocket which was fine when the tones still worked. At this point some of the commands no longer work and because the remote no longer emits a tone I'm not aware of the alarm being disabled. I suggest making the remotes with a stronger case and tougher buttons. I've only had the product eight months, so $169 this soon is quite excessive.
Although this remote is very slick and innovative, the battery life I must say is horrible. I have to change it very often. Also, the ghost light sometimes burns out a lot faster than it should.Other than that, all functions work well.

all i can say is keep it out of your pocket. the buttons are sensitive and it will cause ur car to start and u didnt want it to. My remote is now giving me a error tone after everthing i press on the remote , although it still performs the task i ask it to i dont know unless im in front of the car.

This product is great when it works, however I have only had it for a month and i'm already having problems with it comunicating with the alarm. the buttons are a little sensitive as well. But the functionality is great as well as the design

The remote is nice. Its not bulky and has an innovative look. The buttons are sensitive however so in your pocket they may go off and either give you an error sound or you may find that your car has been started when you didnt actually mean for it to be. All in all it is a good system an i am happy with it.
